Crochet in the sun

My country is slowly drowning in the blood and all I can do is crochet in the sun to take the negative thoughts and the stress away…
I feel like a small ant in a big black world unable to protect my beloved ones…
All I can do is pray… Pray for better days… Pray for my little country… Pray for peace and love…
Please join me in my prayers….
Thank you from the bottom of my heart…
And sorry for this “unhappy” post…

A red stool: Before and after

Good morning!

I finished the cover for the pink stool but I tried it on a red stool I had at home and it was better. Much better…

Wanna see? Ok

Here is the red stool before:

And here it is after….Tadaaaaaaaaaaaa…

Very happy with the result I must confess…

I’ve added a trim of green pompom and I love love love it πŸ™‚

red-stool-4

This stool is a special order for a very kind lady… Even though I wished it was mine I am very happy that she loved it πŸ˜€ and that it will be cherished in its new home πŸ™‚

red-stool-6

Here is “Mustard” saying goodbye to his friend…

red-stool-7

He was with me during all the steps of the stool’s making πŸ˜‰

For this stool I used this yarnΒ worked with a 2.5mm crochet hook.

Now I am finishing a second cover with the rico creative cotton. (I began this cover 14 months ago but did not blogged about it) This second cover will be for the pink stool. More about this in a next post πŸ˜‰

Have to go now…

I hope that you loved the stool…

It is already gone to its new home and I kind of missed it here…

Have a lovely day!

The four stages of a square’s life!

Good morning sweeties I’ve been making some real progress on the happy blankie lately and I thought about sharing with you (again…remember here?) the four stages of a square’s life…

I always choose first the colors…then I work the first round with every color I have…

happy-blankie-rnd1

Then I add a second round with every color too…

happy-blankie-rnd2

then a third round…

happy-blankie-rnd3

then a fourth…

4-rounds

This is my favorite “technique” to work a blanket… It helps you work with all the colors you want without wasting time to choose colors and guessing which color you have to pick now… It makes you use all your colors …

all-squares-done

Now I finished all the squares of my happy blankie…

all-squares-done-2

Aren’t they gorgeous? 99 squares πŸ™‚ (the final blanket will be 11 x 9 squares) yaaaay!!!!!!!!

all-squares-done-3

Now I am really really excited about the joining part πŸ˜€ My favorite! But I think I will not make it now because it is too hot… So the squares of the happy blankie will have to wait in the basket until september maybe πŸ˜‰

Now I’ll be working on my amineko Β and the pink stool (more about this wip later πŸ™‚ )

colorful-clover-hooks

I can not leave you today without showing you my latest gift… something that made me really really happy last week… a set of colorful cloverΒ hooks straight from the U.S πŸ™‚

They are gorgeous and a pure pure pleasure to crochet with πŸ™‚

colorful-clover-hooks--

I am in love with their bright colors and their softness…I am really really hooked πŸ˜‰

If you wish to order a set for you (they are really amazing!), it is right here from amazon. Go take a look πŸ˜‰

Wishing you a colorful monday and a very happy week!

Something new…

Good morning sweeties,

I posted last week this pic of my actual wip on facebook and instagram…

inst

Can you guess what it’s all about?

Well, this is my progress so far (pic taken today)…

C-wip1

Now I think you guessed πŸ˜‰

It is a cushion with letter C like for Christina my daughter πŸ™‚

A cushion made with tiny grannies (one round) joined as I go πŸ™‚

I crocheted one tiny granny…took its measures…. (3 x 3 cm) …made my calculation to obtain a cushion of 45 x 45cm … As a result IΒ had toΒ crochet something with 15 x 15 tiny granny squares… so I draw the letter C using a grid of 15 x 15 squares like for the cross stitch … and began the crocheting… as simple as that … and I am very happy with how it is turning out…

C-wip2

Even though I have to crochet a total of 175 tiny squares (15×15)!!! woooohoooooo!!!

And this is not all … I have to make one S cushion for Sarah… and one J for little Joseph… one N for hubby (Nicolas) and maybe one A for myself (Angie) woooohoooo…

Should I calculate the total number of squares here ???

I better not πŸ˜€ I better enjoy the processing of making each cushion with a lovely frame and a nice crocheted edging πŸ™‚

Have to leave you now my friend…

Hope to show you the cushion done very soon

I have to show you too the baby boy’s ripple (yes it is done tooΒ πŸ™‚ )

Now we are going for a long weekend to the beach… See you next week!

Take care

Sending you BIG BIG Kisses

The table runner :)

Oh hello lovelies!

It is such a beautiful day today and I’m in love… deeply madly crazy in love with my latest finished project… Are you ready to fall too? I’m sure you are πŸ˜‰

table-runner-1

Let’s have some close up pics …

table-runner-2

table-runner-3-close-up

table-runner-4-close-up

I love love love this simple graphic square…I think it is simple but beautiful… and I love it even more because it is the fruit of my imagination… my own drawing… πŸ™‚

table-runner-5

and I love the whole result…the table runner in all its glory…all these bright and beautiful colors mixed together in a lovely patchwork…

table-runner-6

I feel happy whenever I enter the sitting room πŸ™‚

table-runner-7

Now for the part you are all waiting for: The how to…

I crocheted this table runner with a thin cotton yarn called “Camilla 6/4” and a 2mm crochet hook. I made it by joining as I go the squares together in a randomly use of colors…

I drew for you my friend the graphic chart of this square… It is right here:

graphic square

As you noticed, the joining part was made as-I-go with round 5 (in black in the chart) and it is done where I put the arrows…(Instead of the middle chain a slip joining stitch)

Each square was done in a different color and I made a very simple edging (1sc, 4ch, 1sc) all around the whole table runner…

I am in love with it (did I already told you that?? I don’t think so :D) and I think that this graphic square will be beautiful if used to make coasters, cushions or a summer blanket why not?

So, my lovely friend, I’ll have to leave you now with a last pic…

table-runner-8

and wish you a wonderful day!

Sucrette

P.S: I draw all my graphic charts including this oneΒ using Corel Draw (a graphic design software) as many of you keep asking me πŸ™‚

and one last thing: Some of you asks me if I can explain some of the charts with written words and I am so sorry about that but I just can’t do it sometimes… I am unable to do it πŸ™ It is too difficult for me as I myself cannot follow an english written pattern πŸ™ not yet! but one day… πŸ˜‰

Kisses to all!
