knitting…

Good morning sweet people around the globe!

It is so good to have you here today!

It is been a long time since I last picked up my knitting needles…I missed them and missed their sweet music …

knitting

I started this simple cowl last week… It will become a closed cowl once I’ll sew the beggining row with the last row…something to keep my neck warm in winter…

knitting2

I love the very simple basic stitch in knitting… I think it is the best… (my knitting skills are very basic you know 😉 )

I love how the front is different from the back… I prefere the back… I love how the colors melt together on the back…

knitting3

That’s why I started with a 2rows/color and then discovered that when I make 3rows/color I can have that melting sheme on the front too…

But finally I went back knitting 2rows/color… so I can wear it differently on both sides (I hope that this makes sense to you 😀 )

I hope to finish it one day…

I have to confess something… I never ever started and finished a knitting project…This is a huge but true confession hehehe

I hope that this time will be an exception…

knitting1

Knitting for me is like having a date with a loving ex when you are happily married… While I knit I enjoy it a lot but always feel like I’m being unfaithful to crochet … and my joy don’t last for too long 🙂

Till now it is lasting and I am enjoying every stitch… hahaha

Come on! Pick your needles and join me! Let’s knit along 😉

Have a super week!

Happy happy happy :)

Good morning!

I am happy happy happy to show you today the happy blankie in all its glory 🙂

HAPPY-BLANKIE-1

It is finally finished and I love how it is right at home here 🙂

HAPPY-BLANKIE-2

Lots of reds, oranges and yellows to match the warm colors of my home …

HAPPY-BLANKIE-3

I love it….looooove it and can’t wait for the cold days to snuggle under it. I think that we are all here waiting for that 😉

HAPPY-BLANKIE-4

I crocheted this blanket with a 4mm crochet hook and used my faithful Nako Vizon 100% acrylic yarn. ( The Nako Vizon is very similar to the stylecraft special DK between.)

HAPPY-BLANKIE-5

The pattern of each square is very classic and can be found here.

HAPPY-BLANKIE-6

As for the joining: I joined the squares with a line of sc. I held each two squares together (back on back) and worked the sc in the back loop of the two facing stitches.

HAPPY-BLANKIE-7

For the edging, when the blanket is very colorful like this one I prefer to have a simple edging: 3sc, 1sc-3ch-1sc, 3sc, 1sc-3ch-1sc, etc etc Or if you want it is: 3sc, 1 picot, 3sc, 1 picot 😉

I love picots and I find them very beautiful on a blanket edge 🙂

HAPPY-BLANKIE-8

I am so in love with my happy blankie. It is made with 155 squares (11×14) and I think that it will be cherished for many years to come …

HAPPY-BLANKIE-9

Have to go now… A lot of wips are waiting for me…

HAPPY-BLANKIE-10

A lot of work in my place too… A lot of everyday family chores but this blog is always in my heart and you too…

HAPPY-BLANKIE-11

So, my sweeties, I hope to be back to you very soon…

HAPPY-BLANKIE-12

Until then, take good care of yourself, stay warm (under a blanket or two 😉 ) and have always sunshine in your heart…

Love and kisses

Sorry for this… I wish I could fix it for real… I’m still trying… and there are also many strange links all over the place… please ignore them too 🙂 Thank you!!!!!!

55 more…

Just a quick post today to say hello…

I’ve began joining the squares of my happy blankie then I just realized I needed 55 more 🙂 Yeah! 55! It is a very small blanket like it is now so I have to make it bigger and add 5 rows of 11 squares each 🙂

It is all about crochet …

Good morning sweet people around the globe!

It is always so nice to have you here…Thank you all for your wishes on Baby Joe’s birthday 🙂 Your nice words made my day 🙂

Today’s post is all about crochet… and I am not feeling super sure about myself anymore…I will explain…

1-grannies

These days I am like a child experimenting with his new toys… I feel like I just learned how to crochet and I lost my self confidence …

2-2new-wips

I will not say that these will become bedspreads… I will not even say that they will be blankets…neither cushions… I will just enjoy crocheting…just enjoy the stitches I am doing and the making of whatever they will turn into…

3-grannies-with-white-border

I am afraid to make plans…even crochet plans…that’s how I am these days…

I left behind the crazy ripple I was doing…did not like how it is turning out as a bedspread…I tried it on the bed and did not like what I saw…did not feel it…

This is the first time something like that is happening to me: 22 hours of crochet for nothing…I am so dissapointed… Maybe I’ll finish it one day as  a blanket… and maybe not…

4-classic-joined-as-I-go

Now I am making these grannies and classic squares that … I hope … will turn into something…

5-yarn

Using my leftover stash…I’ll try to enjoy crocheting…just crocheting…without thinking about the result….

6-in-love-with-my-new-basket

Did you experience something like that before? Did you one day lost your self confidence about your trustful craft? Did you left behind a project you were crazy about and spent on it long hours of crocheting-knitting?

Please share your experience… I would love to hear about it…

A lovely wednesday to all!

Kisses and love

C and S

Helloooooo!

Do you remember the cushions I started in this post here? Well… They are done now and I can’t wait to show them to you…

I must confess…they were a pain in the a… to make… Those tiny squares are not so enjoyable (can we say that in english? 😉 ) to crochet…And I was like: when will my torture stop? 😀

But I like the result…

Here they are… tadaaaaaa

1-S

First you have the “S” for my youngest daughter Sarah … Here is a close up to my torture 🙂

2-S

Tiny one-round squares joined as I go following a cross stitch diagram 😉

And here is the second one “C” for my daughter Christina

4-C

5-C

Here they are on their beds…6-CandS

Do you like them? I love them and the girls too…But I will not make anymore one of these (sorry baby Joe…I will make another kind of personalised cushion for your room…I promise…)

Before I go … a last pic of the shelves in the girls room… because I managed to clean and tidy the mess on these this week…

7-THE-SHELVES

Wishing you a beautiful week full of sunshine and good things…

Thank you so much for visiting…

Thank you for your prayers and your so kind words on my last post… they really made me feel better …

Love to all!

P.S: Sorry about these words with links in the blog…I really don’t know what they are all about…and how to fix them…please ignore them until I find a solution 😉 THANK YOU!
