Vintage blanket progress

Good morning!

Today’s post is about my vintage blanket progress… Just some pics to show you what I’ve crocheted so far… Here we go:

12 joined squares, 12 unfinished squares…

… and 48 first-round πŸ™‚

That will make when done a total of 9 rows! Youpiii!

But the BIG BIG news is a new kind of yarn my mother bought for me on Saturday…hmmmm…deliciosa…I could not resist trying it and I fall madly deeply…and I started something new too…and I can not take it from my hands πŸ˜€

So, my lovelies, in my next post: New yarn, new kind of colors never used before, new wip and a new cute graphic pattern too πŸ˜‰

Stay tuned!

P.S: Thank you again and again for all these lovely messages you are leaving here πŸ™‚ They warm up my days !

New yarn, new wip

Good morning ladies,

Hope you are enjoying your morning with a hot cup of coffee like myself πŸ™‚

Yesterday I bought some new yarn to add to my old stash

7 new colors and a lot of leftovers…

This 100% acrylic yarn is much thinner than the old one…It has to be crocheted with a 3mm hook… and I love how a normal 4 rounds granny square looks much smaller in this kind of yarn!

I have now two projects I am working on: The first one is a granny blanket for a friend who’s giving birth in July …

The second one is “love at first sight” and I am thinking about offering it as a wedding gift for another friend who’s getting married in July also :):)

But but but …

I could not resist trying out the new yarn πŸ˜‰

Who could resist ???

and I made some squares using the same pattern as my fairy tale blanket! (I just love this pattern!!!)…but this time the colors looks a little “vintage” and I joined with the “off-white-beige” color…so it is looking like a vintage blanket and this is how I decided to name it πŸ˜€

The squares are very soft and a lot smaller and I love them …The colors are not so bright (as for my other projects) and I am thrilled to try out working with them too …

So “Vintage blanket ” is going to be my third wip …

but I should really really finish the granny one (one more row of squares ans a border) and show it to you …It is looking very nice you’ll see πŸ˜‰

Time to go now…

Thank you for visiting!

Big big kisses!

“Grandma and me” blanket

Good morning!

How are you today? Many many thanks for you all who are visiting “le monde de Sucrette”! It is such a pleasure having you here πŸ™‚

and because many of you asked about the blanket I crocheted with my grandma (you can read about this blanket in this post) and especially Nicolette who asked for the pattern I tried this morning to make a graphic one very easy to follow πŸ™‚

So dear Nicolette your wish is my command πŸ™‚ hehe

This is for you some pics of the blanket and the graphic pattern of its square ….

The square is made with 7 rounds…The first and the last round crocheted in white and rounds 2,3,4,5and 6 with one color….

In the graphic pattern above I draw the first 3 rounds…

For round 4,5,6 and 7 it is the same principle as round 2 or 3…You have to crochet 1 treble above every treble of the previous round and in the corner you crochet every time: ” 2tr, 1chain, 2tr ”

It is very easy when you try it πŸ™‚ You’ll see πŸ˜‰

And when all your squares are done…you align them and join them with a dc chain (maille serree in french)

I crocheted the joining-dc chain every time with a different color πŸ˜‰

Hope this helped you !

Have a beautiful and springy week end!

Love at first sight: the pattern

Good morning sweeties,

It is so great to have you here today…

This is the pattern of “love at first sight” and I must warn you: This is really a love-at-first-sight-kind-of-pattern…You’ll be hooked and totally, deeply taken by it…

It is such a pleasure to crochet and the result is wonderful…specially when you make the last round in black (or it can be in another color) to join as-you-go πŸ™‚

So here is the graphic pattern:

As you noticed I made the last round (the one you join with the hexagons) with half treble … so the black color will not be too much outstanding…

I crocheted first 9 hexagons to try out the pattern…

For this blanket I will work with 26 different colors and the black…Every time I make a blanket I use the same method to crochet and use equally all the colors…If I have 26 colors I make a series of 26 hexagons at a time…26 after 26 after 26…etc

I make first the first round of 26 hexagons: one with every color…

and then I crochet the 2nd round using the 26 colors again…one 2nd round with every color… (putting aside the colors used already)

and then I crochet also the 3d round…one 3d round with every single color…This will lead you to 26 “unique” hexagons πŸ™‚

This method is fast and simple…it saves time and allows you to not have one color used more often than the others…

It will not take out the pleasure of crochet…but it will guarantee you a wonderful result without wasting time to choose the colors and think what color you have to crochet next and what color you did not try yet…It will make you a “blanket machine” πŸ˜‰ (I love this expression πŸ™‚ hehe ) a blanket machine who enjoys a lot crocheting πŸ™‚

Thank you all for your wonderful comments on my posts… They bring every morning sunshine to my day πŸ™‚

Happy crocheting !

Fairy tale blanket :)

Good morniiiiiiiiiiiiiing,

Well well well my fairy tale is finished…done…terminΓ©e….Can I say FINALLY finished? Yes, kind of… because at the very end I was like: “I want to finish you because I can not stand you anymore on my knees!!!” πŸ™‚ but the result is amazing and I am proud πŸ™‚

Lets have some pics…shall we?

I started this blanket in my old house on the 15th of January…and blogged about it here…

2 months and a half crocheting squares… a total of 180 squares…

…180 squares joined on-the-go using this pattern

…180 squares crocheted with a 4 mm hook and a wonderful 100% acrylic yarn called “Nako vizon” (you can see the yarn I used in this post)

Dim: 145x180cm which is big enough to snuggle under… πŸ™‚

…a blanket made with memories…a “move” to a new house and a new beginning…

… like a flower meadow…in a spring morning πŸ™‚

I think this blanket will be very much loved πŸ™‚

so, what do you think? Are you, just like myself, totally crazy in love? πŸ˜€

A very last pic before leaving you my dear….Wishing you a wonderful monday πŸ˜‰

Thank you for your visit!

Kisses,
