A new big hooky 2012 project!

Good morning lovely ladies,

Because I so want to get rid of my old stash of Nako yarn in order to buy new kind of yarn,

and because I want to start a long project,

and because I want to work on a simple-pattern-project that I can easily carry everywhere and I can grap whenever I want

I started: Love Birds.

I started Love Birds with a little fear (I must confess) because it is a very big project (a blanket to cover our double sized bed with more than a 100 squares) and every square is crocheted with only a couple of colors.

Wanna see?

Let’s take first a look at the yarn…mmmh…my favorite part:

I will not buy ANY NEW yarn for this project before I finishย AAALLL this ๐Ÿ™‚ This is my 2012 first goal ๐Ÿ™‚

ย I will only buy for the joining because I’ll need then more than one ball from the same color.

I did not decide how I’m gonna join and with what color, I’ll have to crochet some squares first ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ok, let’s take a look at the squares.

Yes granny squares! what else? ๐Ÿ˜‰ Simple, traditional, granny squares with a couple of colors each! I don’t know why the pics are a little “yellowy” maybe it is due to the grey weather … but “live” the colors are yummy ๐Ÿ˜‰

You, surely, understood now why I called it Love Birds… because each square is made with two colors and because it is for our bed ๐Ÿ™‚

I’mย crossing now my fingers to be able to accomplish such a big project… I need your support and your sweet words as always for an everyday’s push …I’m counting on you my dearest friends ๐Ÿ˜‰

Love Birds willย be my BIG project of the year! Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah!ย

Thank you for visiting today…

Have a super weekend!

Sucrette goes shopping :)

Hello my lovelies!

Hope you’re having a fun week end wherever you are!

Yesterday, like you already guessed from the title of this post I did some shopping! No, no not any normal kind of shopping…MY kind of shopping and I’m soo thrilled to show you what I found with a very very good price!

A bird cage:

I felt sooo in love with this cage and on my way back home I was already planning what to put inside ๐Ÿ™‚ yeah yeahhhh!

A parrot? love birds? NO!!!NOOOO! (I sooo hate animals in cages! specially birds ! Aren’t they meant to be free? When I was a kid I once opened the door of the cage to a lovely parrot when we were visiting some of my parent’s friends! I’ll let you imagine what happened next ๐Ÿ˜‰ hehe)

So? did you guessed what I put inside?

Hearts!

I sew them quickly this morning with some fabric scraps! They are not perfect but they are small, colorful and so cute:)

Look at the result: hearts hanged in a bird cage ๐Ÿ™‚

The result is much better “live” then on these pics but I can not resist sharing with you ๐Ÿ˜‰

I Love how it looks in its new home surrounded by some crochet goodies!

And did you see the geese? Yes I bought these too:)

Aren’t they adorable and sooo vintage? I keep smiling every time I enter the living room and look at them!

It is sooo good to live surrounded by people and things you love! and I just love every single object of my happy home! I am so blessed!

Sending you lots and lots of happy and colorful thoughts ๐Ÿ™‚

See you next time with some new crochet projects ๐Ÿ˜‰

Here the sun is going down and we have a beautiful sunset…

Have a marvelous evening too!

Getting busy…

Good morning friends around the globe!

Hope you’re doing great today…

I’ve been playing with my favorite stash of yarn and could not resist beginning a new project…

My favorite part in any hooky project is when I choose the colors and take them from their box to my favorite basket…and then dream a little bit on what I’ll be making… and how the project will turn out once finished … ๐Ÿ™‚

Crochet day dreaming is the best ๐Ÿ™‚

This yarn is my favorite… Even though it is a little thin (crochet with a 3mm hook) it has the most wonderful colors…

It is called Mirage…a 100% acrylic yarn…

and I’ve decided to make a bedspread for the baby’s room…Yes, I know that my own bedspread is not finished yet and I’m still making Love bird squares but I will be working on both of them together ๐Ÿ™‚

And for this project I’ve been inspired by the lovely work of Derya…she’s been working on her own patchwork blanket and posting great pics about it day after day…and I was like : woooow I want to make one ๐Ÿ™‚

Derya has a beautiful blog where she post everyday lovely pics of her crochet projects…Even though it is in turkish and I don’t understand a word I am always happy to visit her and get inspired by her talented projects and her wonderful choice of colors …

So… I began mine…

and I’m making 4 squares/ day … Oh you cannot imagine how much pleasure this simple project is giving me ๐Ÿ™‚ Crocheting traditional granny squares of 6 rounds each and joining them together as-I-go … colorful plain granny squares ๐Ÿ™‚ I love youuuuuuuuuuu soooo muchhh ๐Ÿ™‚

and I feel that it will turn out wonderful as a single bedspread…what do you think?

Now I have two bedspreads on the making…One single and one double ๐Ÿ™‚ yahooooooooooooo!

and I’ve began a new small painting also…in my new craft room ๐Ÿ™‚

Rediscovering the pleasure of painting after a long period of time…is simply wonderful!

I’m off now to finish it!

Thank you so much for visiting…

Wishing you small pleasures to brighten up your day ๐Ÿ™‚

Big kisses

The joyful ripple

Good morniiiiiiing!

The first project for number3 is done ๐Ÿ™‚ ! Hourray! and I love it! It is so easy and quick to finish a baby blanket that you become addicted and you want to crochet more and more! It is a really fun experience and you feel very happy to finish so quickly a project ๐Ÿ™‚

Some pics of the joyful ripple for you my friend to enjoy …

Here it is:

The yarn is called “Mirage” and it is a 100% acrylic yarn crocheted with a 3mm hook… I really love this yarn…very soft (perfect for babies) with super colors …it is very similar to the Stylecraft special DK but a little thinner and the quality is better wash after wash…

I buy this yarn form a local shop here in Beirut …don’t know if they have an online shop…

The pattern of this ripple can be found HERE. It is a very easy to follow pattern and I love how it turns out ๐Ÿ™‚

I did not make a border for this blanket as I prefered to leave it as it is and have theย “waves” from two sides …

I am now on my week 17 of pregnancy… don’t know yet if it is a boy or a girl…will know maybe on the 7th of May (on my birthday)ย ๐Ÿ™‚ as I have an “echo”ย (do we say echo in English?) and will let you know too ๐Ÿ˜‰ of course ๐Ÿ˜‰

I am not feelingย until now any baby kicks …I am sooooo waiting for them ๐Ÿ™‚ It is one of the best things about pregnancy…to feel your baby living inside of you…

So, my lovelies, that was the first finished project for little baby ๐Ÿ™‚ The joyful ripple goes well for both baby boy or girl ๐Ÿ™‚ Can’t wait to know if he is a he or she ๐Ÿ™‚

I feel that I am onย a little cloud of happiness ๐Ÿ™‚ flying with birds high on the sky and I have all the timeย that idiot smile on my face ๐Ÿ™‚

I wish to you tooย a very happy week ย and an eternal smile on your face ๐Ÿ™‚ Life is good!

Big kisses!

A monday morning…

Good morning my sweeties,
How are you feeling today? How was your weekend?
Here, the weather was perfectly springy this weekend and the children played outside … it was a perfect weekend with sunshine and even birds singing…
This morning, the gray weather came back again and after the girls go to school I took some pics of the garden… a garden a little sad without sunshine and the children’s laughter …

I live near my parent’s house and we have theย garden between the two houses…

So, from our terrace, the girls can call Geddo and Setto ๐Ÿ™‚ (It is how we call the grandparents here in Lebanon)

I’ve made some progress with my baby blanket this weekend…

I’ve already crocheted all the circles and I still have to join two rows of squares and make a cute edging…

So, my sweeties, a tadaaaa post is coming soon ๐Ÿ˜‰

Also, next time, I’ll open for you this lovely book (in the pic above) so you can take a peek to its beautiful pics…Believe me, it is a DELICIOUS book ๐Ÿ™‚

So, stay tuned ๐Ÿ˜‰

and have a marvellous monday!

P.S: About the Nako yarn, I know that many of you would love to try out this yarn and order some online, I’m trying as hard as I can to make that happen, I’ll tell you more about it if it works…(crossing my fingers)!!
