Discovering a new crochet stitch…

…and loving it a lot lot lot!

Good morning lovely people!

How are you today? Last week, I discovered on the net a beautiful crochet stitch and I searched for its pattern and found out that it is the easiest crochet pattern I’ve ever seen so I thought about sharing it with you of course πŸ˜‰

Don’t know if you already know about it …it is called Moss stitch crochet and it is G O R G E O U S πŸ™‚ The kind of stitch I easily fall in love with cause it melts the colors used in a wonderful way…

No more talking … let’s see some pics (Β I’m hearing you…) shall we?

So I started a cowl with some Nako Vizon Yarn using a 4mm crochet hook…

Let’s have some close ups…

Β

Oh oh oh!! Isn’t it wonderful? Do you see the little touches of colors how they melt together? Are you in love like myself?

and and and… it is super super easy to make…1 single crochet, 1 chain etc etc πŸ™‚

You have to google it for all the instructions… (just type moss stitch crochet) thereΒ is some youtube videosΒ with step by step instructions and written patterns ect…Β all that you need to learn this very very easy stitch…

Now, I’m thinking about starting a blanket for Joe with that stitch…Mmmm I’m already planning in my head the color’s combinations πŸ™‚

Should I finish joining the love birds blanket squares first?

Β I really should…don’t know if I can… πŸ˜€

Have to leave you now… little baby is crying πŸ™‚

I’ll leave you with a Christina’s pic…

Aren’t children adorable?

Have a wonderful colorful week my friend!

P.s: Some of you are writing to me that they are not receiving the newsletter and I really don’t know why and how to fix that problem…can you please advise if you’re receiving it or no? And if you’re not, can you try to unsubscribe and then subscribe again? Sorry for that my friend… Kisses!

Getting busy…

Good morning friends around the globe!

Hope you’re doing great today…

I’ve been playing with my favorite stash of yarn and could not resist beginning a new project…

My favorite part in any hooky project is when I choose the colors and take them from their box to my favorite basket…and then dream a little bit on what I’ll be making… and how the project will turn out once finished … πŸ™‚

Crochet day dreaming is the best πŸ™‚

This yarn is my favorite… Even though it is a little thin (crochet with a 3mm hook) it has the most wonderful colors…

It is called Mirage…a 100% acrylic yarn…

and I’ve decided to make a bedspread for the baby’s room…Yes, I know that my own bedspread is not finished yet and I’m still making Love bird squares but I will be working on both of them together πŸ™‚

And for this project I’ve been inspired by the lovely work of Derya…she’s been working on her own patchwork blanket and posting great pics about it day after day…and I was like : woooow I want to make one πŸ™‚

Derya has a beautiful blog where she post everyday lovely pics of her crochet projects…Even though it is in turkish and I don’t understand a word I am always happy to visit her and get inspired by her talented projects and her wonderful choice of colors …

So… I began mine…

and I’m making 4 squares/ day … Oh you cannot imagine how much pleasure this simple project is giving me πŸ™‚ Crocheting traditional granny squares of 6 rounds each and joining them together as-I-go … colorful plain granny squares πŸ™‚ I love youuuuuuuuuuu soooo muchhh πŸ™‚

and I feel that it will turn out wonderful as a single bedspread…what do you think?

Now I have two bedspreads on the making…One single and one double πŸ™‚ yahooooooooooooo!

and I’ve began a new small painting also…in my new craft room πŸ™‚

Rediscovering the pleasure of painting after a long period of time…is simply wonderful!

I’m off now to finish it!

Thank you so much for visiting…

Wishing you small pleasures to brighten up your day πŸ™‚

Big kisses

Baby granny blanket

Hello sweeties!

How’s everything? Hope all is great for you! I am now in my 24th week of pregnancy and I’m feeling good so far…the baby is kicking me a lot and I must confess that this is one of the best things I just love about being pregnant πŸ™‚

Last week, I started a new blanket for him! This is his second one. The first was the joyful ripple if you still remember!

Well, this second blanket will be a granny one for the coldest days of winter as I’m crocheting it with the Nako Vizon yarn and a 4.5mm crochet hook…Wanna see some pics?

First I chose some colors…9 bright and lovely colors for the first two rounds of each granny…

and two colors for round3 and 4 of each square…A lovely light blue with a beautiful brown …

and then I started some grannies just to try out the result of this combination-idea I had on my mind for weeks πŸ˜‰

and I made 9 colorful 2 rounds-squares … and then I crocheted the third round in light blue…

then I added a 4th round in brown…

I’m joining the squares with this 4th round using the join-as-I-go method…

I just love how this turned out πŸ™‚ what do you think?

Β

I love these blue and brown colors surrounding the others πŸ™‚

There is something about granny squares that make me want to crochet all day long …I just can’t resist them πŸ™‚

I’m using the very classic pattern for these squares. You can find it here!

So, sweeties, I hope you like the beginning of my new wip!

Thank you so much for visiting today and thanks to all of you who voted for Le monde de Sucrette on the 2012 Blue ribbon Blogger awards of Country Living….Even thought I can not win and I just discovered this due to the lovely Denise who left for me a comment saying that this competition was for the residents of the U.S only πŸ™ I feel a little dissapointed and a little sad because I let you vote for a comptetion I could not win…so sorry my friend πŸ™ I did not knew πŸ™

Concerning the baby set pattern: I did not finish it yet…sorry again…cause this weekend I could not find time for it … I promise that it will be ready at the end of this week πŸ™‚

Have a lovely day wherever you are…I’m sendingΒ a lot of hugsΒ and kisses your way!

On the hook…

Good morning sweeties,

I am so thankful for all the lovely comments you wrote concerning my home πŸ™‚ I was so happy reading each word …some made me laugh and some brought tears to my eyes (don’t worry it is my “hormones” πŸ™‚ ) Thank you sooo much! Your comments gave me back confidence about my decorating taste and the colors surrounding me…

You gave me back the joy I needed to live peacefully and happily in my loving home and that’s why I’m so thankful to you…You made me appreciate again my place…You really did aΒ great job πŸ˜€ THANK YOUΒ from the bottom of my heart!

Today, I want to show you a cushion I’m working on…It is a patchwork cushion crocheted with leftover “Mirage” yarn…

I think my house is full of leftover yarn and I don’t have any ball ofΒ yarn that is still totally new πŸ™‚

Mirage is a 100% acrylic yarn worked with a 2.5mm crochet hook. Wanna take a look first to the yarn used ?

Yes, I know, you are like myselfΒ a yarn-addict πŸ˜‰ and you totallyΒ love to see yarn pics… Β I understand πŸ™‚ hehe

I just love the colors and the softness of “Mirage”.Β Β The only drawback of this is that yarn is very thin (crocheted with a 2.5 mm hook) but it is ok and I try to get used to it…

and this is the cushion I’m working on…mostly finished πŸ™‚

I hope to make also some new covers for the leather stools I have at home with “Mirage” once the cushion is done…

I love these tiny granny squares joined together as-I-go …

What do you think?

I’m off now to take a cup of coffee in my favorite chair surrounded by my favorite colorful cushions and throws πŸ˜‰

Have a wonderful weekend!

Sending you big big kisses and hugs through this post πŸ™‚

I’m crocheting the poncho with a 4.5mm crochet hook. I’ve started it with a chain of 88ch…yes, my head is a little big πŸ˜‰

Don’t forget: Your beginning chain must be a multiple of 8 and big enough to enter through the head!
