Crochet

By |May 17th, 2015|colors and yarns, Crocheted blankets, granny squares, wips|13 Comments

Hello!

I am enjoying these days this granny squares project a lot. This will become a bedspread for my daughter Sarah and it will be followed by another one for Christina my oldest too. I’ve been wanting to make for them grannies winter bedpreads for ages :)

8

I am enjoying each stitch, each square, choosing the colors and taking my time because no dead line here and not so many other wips going on too (just the hexies blanket with the debbie bliss yarn but that is another story I’ll keep for another post :) )

6

While I crochet, I often can’t do the “mindfullness” crochet as it is supposed to be. Ok I enjoy crocheting, it calms me, soothes me but my mind is always thinking, calculating, planning, dreaming of other things and I can never shut it down completely :)

2

I was thinking yesterday about the art of crochet. It is an art, isn’t it? and how people pass it from one to another and that it will be great if I can teach somebody this passion of mine before I leave this planet. It will be really good to know that I somehow made someone else happy by teaching him (her) this wonderful craft that can calms you, soothes you, distract you and gives you time to think, plan and fix ideas in your head while your hands are busy creating.

3

I never taught anybody to crochet and I really would love to do it. In my country crochet is an old fashioned craft and it makes me sad to see how people make fun jokes about it… but I will not loose hope :)

4

Here I am again, sharing my thoughts with you and that makes me very very happy.

5

Thank you for being here my friend,

6

Thank you for taking time to read,

7

Sending you all my love,

Sucrette

A baby girl blanket

By |March 3rd, 2015|"done", A month with pics, another V stitch version, Classic square, Crocheted blankets, Crocheted doily, edging, flowers, for babies, wips|14 Comments

Good morning sweeties,

February was a very good productive month for me. I’ve finished two of my wips blankets. My crochet mood blanket (the centered pic in the pic above) and the baby girl V stitch blanket :)

2

Today’s post is all about this last one :) A simple stripy V stitch blanket that turned out very pretty :)

3

I loved working on it. The happy colors made my heart sings with joy and I loved the soothing calming music of the pattern :)

You can find the chart of this stitch right here :)

4

I used Nako baby yarn which is a mixture of polyamid and acrylic and it is a very very soft and a pure pleasure yarn to work with. I crocheted it with a 3.5mm hook.

1

For the edging I’ve used the same Vstitch all around the blanket but I’ve made picots instead of the 2ch … (for the picot: I crochet 4chain and 1sc in the firt chain) I love picots… they really make the sweetest edgings :) This blanket will be for the sweet princess due in April…

6

And now I started another Baby blanket for a sweet boy due in March… Yes I am late, I know, but I will do it :)

7

Have to leave you now my friend! Wishing you a lovely week :)

Love to all!

Old forgotten wips

By |February 27th, 2015|Baking, granny stripes, Hexagons, Mug love, Ripple, Stripes, wips|21 Comments

Hello!

center;”>A new post today about very old forgotten wips that I decided to work on again and finish.

6

I have a small problem. I often begin a project and leave it aside. And I work on various wips together too. So I have 2 small problems 😉 I have now on my hook 5 different projects (all are blankets). One of them is nearly finished. So 4 wips :)

7

When I was reducing the mess in my craft room last week I saw this old ripple blanket I started years ago. I remember leaving it aside when I discovered the joy of working with aran yarn. This ripple is crocheted with a thin DK yarn and a 3.5mm hook and I think that I got bored with the slowliness (Is that a word?:D ) this project was growing… (My english is soooo bad )

8

So I was like OOOOH wooow and decided to work again on it. And aside of this ripple was a granny stripes blankie started in the same period of time and with the same yarn…

9

I decided to give these two second chances (they deserve it, don’t you think?) and try to finish them. Yes, finish them :)

10

And finish also the others wips that are on my hook like the hexagons blankie…

2

… I am crocheting with the Debbie bliss yarn. I think that I am taking my time and working on this very slowly to make the pleasure last longer… Cause you know and I already told you that this yarn is a pure pleasure to crochet with…

1

And I’ll have to order more yarn…These are the leftovers…

3

and this is the size of the blanket right now… I surely need more yarn 😉

5

The baby V stitch blanket is done too. It is lovely and deserves a proper post… So next time there will be a tadaaaa post here :) Watch this space 😉

4

I’ll leave you now with this pic of the delicious pineapple cake I’ve baked on Sunday. And wish you a wonderful weekend filled with little pleasures!

See you soon
