Almost a year now that I’ve started this big hooky project: (If you’re interested…you can read the very first post of it HERE !): Love birds: A crocheted granny bedspread for our room…and today…well today…it is done 🙂 finished 🙂 and I am totally in love…And I can’t wait to show you….

Are you readyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?

Yarn: Nako Vizon (a 100% acrylic yarn)

Hook: 4mm

Pattern of the squares: Here

Joining: I joined the squares together with a row of sc with the dark turquoise color.

Edging pattern: Here

I am totally crazy in love with it I must confess 🙂 and I can’t wait for each night to come so I can wrap myself with it before falling asleep 🙂

And I am very proud of myself too cause, you know, it is a very big project: 110 squares in total. Each one made with 8 rounds 😀

Hope you love it as much as I do 🙂

Have a wonderful end of week and end of year too!

See you in 2013 😉

Do you remember Love Birds?

Hello lovelies!

Great to see you after this week end. Do you remember Love Birds? It was back in April that I blogged about it for the last time … and it was here! 3 months ago…woooow…time flies 🙂

Well, I managed some free time to do some squares for Love birds in the past week…

and they are enough now for a single bedspread … 88 squares in total 🙂 yahooooo!

I’m thinking about making the last round in blue for all these squares and then begin joining them together…

Maybe I should make a single bedspread for my son’s room (the one that is still in my tummy 😉 ) instead of a double one for ours? What are you thinking right now? I’m a lazy lady 😀 eh? hehe

Maybe maybe maybe I’ll have enough courage to continue and make 33 more squares then it will be big enough for our double bed…maybe yes… maybe no… who knows?

I love this pic 🙂 (above) mmmh … crocheted squares of yarn stacked like a big sandwich 🙂

and this one too 🙂 my tower of happiness 🙂

Don’t you love looking at pics of crocheted squares? Or am I boring you? Hope I’m not 😉

Well, one last thing before leaving you today is a BIG BIG thank you to a lovely friend of mine who sent me the most adorable handmade gift… a lovely leather door key…who came with the postman from Paris…

Rosemarie has a beautiful blog that you should really visit here! and she’s one of the most adorable and generous person I’ve ever met in blogland! Merci! GRAND MERCI du fond du coeur Rosemarie!

Well, my sweeties, one last pic of yarn porn before leaving you today…

Wishing you a wonderful week full of good things 🙂

Love Birds: A small sample :)

Good morniiiiing!

This is for you a small sample to show you how I’m gonna join the squares of Love Birds. I’m so in love with this blue-turquoise-teal color that I did not help myself using it as a joining color 🙂

I made a granny round in turquoise for every square then I joined the squares together with a line of sc (U.S) (dc U.K ) (m.s France) with the dark turquoise.

and I love the result 🙂 love love love!

What do you think??  Is it good or will it be better with a white classic joining? or some other color you’ll suggest? I really would love to have your opinion…Remember: It is a very big blanket for our double sized bed and the walls are light blue in our room…

Voila voilou 🙂 Hope you liked it!

A big big thank you today for three lovely ladies for giving me The Versatile Blogger Award 🙂 (Yes, I received it 5 times this week and I am really spoiled 🙂 ) Thank you Barbina, Laura and Helen! They have lovely blogs you must visit 🙂 Barbina, Laura, Helen, Jill and Gramma Rita A HUGE THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart ! I wrote some facts about myself when I first received this award back in september 2010…to read them, click here !

It is always such a pleasure receiving an award…It really brings sunshine to my mornings 🙂

Before leaving you today I want to show you my desk from where I sit every day to read you and write to you 🙂

and this is my pink laptop …

“Fall” in love

Hello my friend!
First post in 2013…
I hope you’ve had a beautiful holiday season and that 2013 will be a wonderful year for all of you!
We’ve had some great time together with baby Joe this Christmas and the girls are still at home…they will be back to school on the 7th …
We are still in “digestion” mode after all the food we ate during these 2 weeks…uuuuf…a diet is a must now…just water for two or 3 days hehe…to wash out all the not-healthy-at-all-food… 😀

To have a good start of 2013 I began a blanket 🙂 Yes, I am a blanket lover and I love making blankets…This blanket will be for a cousin of mine who’s got married in summer and who moved to a new warm and very cosy home…but she don’t crochet and a home without a crocheted blanket in the living room is not a home don’t you agree ? 😉

I have enough blankets for my home and crocheted bedspreads for every room so one of the resolutions for 2013 I’ve made, is to make blankets for the others, friends and cousins who do not crochet…I have to have a REASON to crochet more blankets … 😉

The blanket I started for N. is with the autumn colors…that’s why I called it “fall” in love…it will be a fall colors blanket…

These are the colors I chose…

yarn

I love these colors: Red, orange, purple, greens etc…they are so warm and they let me think about cosy winter nights in front of a fire 🙂

And this is the start of “fall” in love :

The pattern is the very classic square and the squares are joined together with a last round made with chains and s.c…

Next time I’ll post for you the very easy graphic to follow if you’re interested…
And I have to show you too the progress I’ve made to my granny shawl…delicious 🙂

2012 was a blessed year for us with the addition of baby Joseph to our family and it was a very good year for me in crochet talking as I’ve made two big projects two bedspreads (one for baby Joe’s room and one for ours) and many other projects too…thanks to your presence and encouraging comments to every post I write 🙂 You’ll never know how much I appreciate every word that you leave here my friend and I’m very sorry that I’m not able these days to leave a personal response to each and every one of you…
Hoping that 2013 will be a good year for you and for me…
Many many kisses and hugs…

Two new wip and some lovely turkish stuff…

Good morning !

How’s your morning? Are you enjoying like myself the first days of summer with the birds singing outside and the sun shining high? Mmmmh it feels so great when the weather is good…

So today, as promised, I’ll show you some crochet goodies I brought with me from Istanbul and two new projects I started when I got home …

First, there is some colorful crochet hooks I could not resist buying as I can not find any here in Beirut… I paid 1T.L (Turkish Lira) for each hook…that makes 0.38 british pound (or 0.6 USD) 🙂

some cute little buttons…

and of course yarn 🙂 the best yarn I ever touched in my whole life… soooooo soft and with bright colors 🙂

It is called Nako baby …It is a mixture of 50%acrylic and 50%polyamid…I think this polyamid thing is what makes it soooo soft …and a pure pleasure to work with …

As for the price it is really cheap as I bought one (100gr) for 2.5 T.L (Turkish lira) that makes 0.95 British pound (or 1.5 USD) for one ball of 100g! Can you believe it ???

So, as you already guessed, I started something with this new yarn…a blanket 🙂

a stripy colorful baby blanket…one color for each row…all with treble…

but as you can see in the pic above, I am working the trebles in the back of every stitch…(inserting the hook not in all the stitch but in the back side of the stitch only) that makes it looks like this and I love how the lines are appearing…did you notice ?

and this is my second wip…

a granny square??? pffffffffffff

No, no, no, not any granny square 🙂

These are the first 6 rounds of a giant granny square…a real G I A N T one….with like 100 rounds !!!

So, who wants to join me in this great adventure and make your proper giant granny??? It will be a great challenge to make a really big one with all the leftover yarns you have …and it will become a beautiful loved blanket I am sure!!

Ooooh I am so thrilled with this project 🙂 Join me join me join me !!! pleaaaaaaaaaaase!! 😀

Have to go now my friend!

Thank you so much for visiting today!

Have a wonderful week wherever you are!
