Home…

Hello my friend,

Nothing so special to share with you today…

Just some pics of my home and my ordinary life…

I’ve made some changes between my formal living and my family room… I’ve exchanged the sofas between them (sorry if this is not a correct sentence 🙂 )

This is how they look right now…

In the family room, where there is so much more natural light, I’ve put the dark brown sofas…

And in the formal living, where there is not much light, I’ve put the beige sofas:

It is much better now…and I’m very very happy with my new home 🙂

and here is baby Joe, 1 month and a half old today, sleeping quietly in his new chair…

He is a sweet angel during day time but in the night … don’t talk with me about his nights… He has so much colics poor baby…he cries all night long…A L L … and nothing stops his crying unless he is carried…I do hope it is just a period of time and that all will be ok soon…

Not much crochet is happening these days but I do love to look at my basket and my love birds bedspread wip…It makes me feel good and happy even though I’m barely touching my hook and yarn 😉

Have to go now…

Hope you’re all doing well in your part of the world specially my U.S friends…I’ve been thinking and praying a lot for you …I hope you are all OK !

Sending you all my love through this post…

See you soon…

Try hair dryrer on his belly when he starts crying over colic. It helped us a lot with my sons. Make sure it does not blow too hot air and you will see warm air coming from hair dryer will help him with colic aches and the noise of it make him calm down. Our doctor had told us it has the same frequency with the noise he had listened in your belly before birth. Hope it helps you out during night.

Thank you Selen for this idea! I should really try it!

Your living rooms look beautiful! The light coming in on the family room looks perfect and the dark sofas contrast (I think that’s the right word!) with it really well.

Joe is looking as cute as ever, and hopefully he will grow out of the restless-night stage!

    Wishing you luck, Carys ♥

Joe is so cute, can not imagine he has so much trouble at night, poor baby, hope it will be OK with hairdryer – but nothing is measurable with carryng him, it is the most comforting thing for him – it is hard for you, but it pass so quickly, before you know it he is bigger and no trouble with cramping. Boys have this problems almost regularly, rare one are without these cramps.
Your rooms are wonderful, so warm and nice.

With my youngest daughter I spent the first 4 months of her life sleeping in my recliner chair with her across my chest. It was the only way I could get any rest. Thankfully, it doesn’t last forever; hopefully your little one will outgrow it too! I love the look of your formal living room… so warm and comfortable, inviting.

Joe looks so sweet which makes it hard to believe he suffers so much at night. I hope his colic gets better soon. You must be very tired so I hope you get some rest during the day when Joe is asleep.

Your rooms look lovely. I think you made the right decision when you moved the sofas. Now the rooms look perfect.

    Hi Sucrette,
thank you for your concern! I have been crocheting for the past four days to get through our hurricane. I live in NJ, and our state was badly hit especially by the ocean. I started making your “sucrette’s square” for a blanket and it is so pretty. I love it! We are hoping to get power back tonight after 4 nights of being in the dark!

  14. Alison

Your home looks beautiful and very welcoming. Joe looks gorgous & I hope his colic improves soon.

  15. Deborah

Sucrette, the colic will pass. My son had trouble, too, when he was a baby. We took lots of car rides to settle him down each night. Just love him through this phase of his young life. I love the changes you made in the two rooms. It’s amazing what a difference it makes when you change colors in a room. Rest where you can and be gentle with yourself.

Hi Angie! I love the rearrange you did with the living rooms! Poor baby Joe and mommy, I hope he gets over his colic soon. I know a lot of people run the vacuum too, but that would be a little loud in the middle of the night. Good luck with that though! Hope you all get some rest soon.
    Hugs and love!

l really feel for you , both my girls had colic for the first 3 months but my son was alittle angel , slept all day and right through the night, but they do grow out of it he is lovely, love your rooms and your crochet covers and cushions very cozy.xx

  19. Sangeetha

Hi Angie, You have a beautiful home. How do you keep it looking so good with three little ones! Little prince is so cute. But I can understand how tired you must be getting. Not only did my son cry at night, I had to carry him and walk around the room. And if I stopped or sat down he would start screaming again. Now that he is nineteen those days(nights) are only a funny story. 🙂 Good luck.
    Love and hugs.

  20. Gwen

Thank you for sharing pics of your new sofa arrangements and baby Joe. I love all your beautiful colours. Keep safe. Xx

  21. Lily

Hi – sorry you are not getting any sleep. My little one had bad colic also and would only sleep when carried around. It really is exhausting and also upsetting seeing their little faces all screwed up with discomfort. I have never heard of the hair drier trick – that is an interesting solution. Let us know if you try it. Lily. xxx

  22. Angélique

Ton chez toi est magnifique un véritable coocon 😉 Ohh encore un merveilleux encours dans ton panier 😉 Je te souhaite un beau we.

  23. Tammy

Your home is lovely, Angie. Sometimes all it takes to give you a fresh perspective is to move things around. No need to spend money or buy new stuff. Your crochet work makes for a very cozy home. My youngest son had a lot of colic — cried a lot! One day he cried for so long I was really scared and called his pediatrician — nothing was working, not the gripe water, or miramiya. So frustrating when you don’t know what to do for them. I hope it will pass soon so you can both get some sleep. Best wishes, Tammy

  24. cristina

Your home is extremely charming! All blankets are a beauty! And your baby … your baby … I will eat me a kisses he! Congratulations! And the colics are normal for young children … suffer when they do … I wish that you all get better and that you have patience … my baby she is 14 months old and is beautiful. Gradually everything will work out. Best wishes to you and your family!

Hi Sucrette, my younger child was just like Joseph. She needed to be held a lot and she had gastric reflux and colic. She was such a miserable little thing as a baby, it was very sad. I was wondering if you had tried to wear Joseph in a sling at all. It was a Godsend for my daughter and she ended up being on me in the sling most of the day, which was fine because it let me get things done around the house as well as play with and care for my older child, who was three when she was born. If you haven’t already tried it, I highly recommend using a sling. You can even learn to breastfeed in the sling so that you don’t have to slow down too much when it’s time for him to eat. I understand exactly what you’re going through and I hope things improve soon. 🙂

HI SUCRETTE!!! I copied a couple great sites for you….my youngest son had terrible colic and my granny told me to use peppermint ( we just took peppermint stick ) and rubbed it on his little mouth, and my granny always helped me swaddle my babies….they always fell asleep and slept nearly all night….something about swaddling soothes them….I know it is so hard….maybe this will help a little…and you home is beautiful!!!!! DEB

    • Sucrette

Oh thank you soooo much for your links 🙂 I’ll try tonight the swaddling!
      Hope it will work 😉

You have a beautiful home – and baby Joe looks so precious. 🙂

  36. Lyn Z...

Joseph looks so angelic when sleeping…
I know how hard these days can be with a baby that cries all night but trust these days will pass and he will balance out….. SWADDLING OR A Sling are definitely GREAT solutions for the issues you are experiencing. BE GRATEFUL Joseph is able to sleep during the day… My friends son suffered both DAY AND NIGHT and had no relief for 4 months straight! It was dreadful ….. I used to watch him a few nights a week as my own daughter who was 6months older was such an easy baby I felt if she did not have some quiet time she would have lost her mind!!!
Saying prayers for You and little Joseph…
Your home truly expresses your love of color and happiness!
