The baby granny blanket…slow progress…

By
June 28, 2012

Good morning sweet people,

Some pics to share with you today about my slow progress on the making of my baby blanket…

I’m on my 26th week of pregnancy now and I feel like I’m a big cow but slow like a turtle 🙂

It is very very hot now here …we’re in the summer days… and I can not stand holding the yarn for a long time…

That’s why I’m so slowly progressing on a blanket which should be finished by now…

I’m loving it and I’m loving the colors sooo much…

This soft doll you’re seeing in this pic is one I’ve made back in 2006 🙂

What do you think about it so far? It is the first time I use so much brown in one project but I like it 😉

Have to go now…

and leave you my friend…

Sending you lots of kisses!

Sucrette

Hi Angie, I so understand about crocheting in hot weather, I find myself doing a lot less these days. Southern Ca. also very warm these days.

I think your blanket looks beautiful, and the brown makes it very appropriate for a boy. Just keep going, it will be do e before you k ow it.

It’s good night for me… Yaaaaawn
But I hope you have a great day!!!
    🙂

Brown is a very good choice, I think, especially for the first autumn days your little one will face.

Poor Sucrette 🙁 Pregnancy & hot weather do NOT go together! I remember those days! I really like the brown yarn edging on your blanket…it works so well with the bright colors. Hopefully you’ll get a cool breeze soon 🙂

    Baby will love this!

I totally understand about not wanting to handle yarn in the hot weather. In the summer I make a lot of dishcloths from cotton for that very reason! But baby will love this granny blanket more than he would love a dishcloth! LOL!

That soft doll is so very sweet 🙂
I understand completely (as many others do too) about feeling big, and slow and oh-soo-very-hoT!! Try putting your feet into a bowl of cool water, it will help to cool you as a whole.
Blessings on you and yours 😉

The brown is lovely! At first, I admit, I didn’t like it but seeing it next to all those bright colors makes me love it! Your bump is soooo cute. Yesterday (and all this week) was in the 100s so I understand completely about not wanting yarn on your lap for long. But keep going! It’s beautiful!

    Hello Angie,

The baby blanket looks so nice! Take time in the day to rest and stay hydrated in this heat. Your baby bump looks so cute! The soft dolls in the photos are so precious! You have many talents Angie, and it is so nice of you to share the photos of your creations with your fans. Stay as comfy & as cool as you can during these hot Summer months.
    Maggie

  28. Anna

I like it. It is mellow and neutral but colorful, and that is a hard accomplishment. Congrats!

  29. Darlene

The blanket is very nice with the light blue and brown; coming along nicely!! Yes, the summer is hard for crocheting, especially while pregnant. My son was born in August (many years ago!!) and it was so hard with the heat and swollen feet; all you can do is go at a comfy pace and just do your best to care for yourself in the heat. Will be thinking about you and wishing you the best!!

  30. Maya

    Beautiful Blanket!!!
    Congratulations….

Cette couverture est superbe. Le brun se varie très bien avec toutes les autres couleurs. Vous avez bien choisi.
Reposez vous bien et profitez de ces moments de calme avant l’arrivée de BB
