Love Birds: A small sample :)

By
February 9, 2012

Good morniiiiing!

This is for you a small sample to show you how I’m gonna join the squares of Love Birds. I’m so in love with this blue-turquoise-teal color that I did not help myself using it as a joining color 🙂

I made a granny round in turquoise for every square then I joined the squares together with a line of sc (U.S) (dc U.K ) (m.s France) with the dark turquoise.

and I love the result 🙂 love love love!

What do you think??  Is it good or will it be better with a white classic joining? or some other color you’ll suggest? I really would love to have your opinion…Remember: It is a very big blanket for our double sized bed and the walls are light blue in our room…

Voila voilou 🙂 Hope you liked it!

A big big thank you today for three lovely ladies for giving me The Versatile Blogger Award 🙂 (Yes, I received it 5 times this week and I am really spoiled 🙂 ) Thank you Barbina, Laura and Helen! And good morning to yooooou Angie,

    Thanks

    Hello,
I do love your blanket very much. It is a wonder of colours and it is fantastickly well done.
For the color of the joining, I would (may be) have done it in a darkest color (darkest blue) ? This would have permit to this lovely turquoise to “come out” !!! But this is only my point of vieuw ans as you aksed us, I give it ! But any color you will chose, it is really, really wonderful. Have a nice day. Here in France it is very cold and today it is also cloudy !!! Kisses. Rosemarie

I have looked up your facts, I was curious :), and I am so with you at number 3, 4, 5 and 7. Especially number 5 is so me!

    Hello,

The blanket looks very good with the turquoise joining!
I especially like it that you put an extra turquoise round on every square.
This blanket will fit your bedroom very nice!
I’m looking forward to see more of it…

  21. Beth

    Love the blue! Keep it!

  22. Stocki

The turquoise Angie….definitely the turquoise… it looks gorgeous… and makes the other colours POP! Also… than you won’t have to undo all your lovely joining work! Congratulations on all of your lovely awards…it shows how much loved your blog is. … I can’t wait for this Ta-dah! Hugs, Jill x

  23. Julia T

I like the dark turquoise a LOT…and the lighter turquoise round on each square is nice. I think white to join would be nice, but I have seen that done a lot, on pillows and such, so I would stick with the dark turquoise for the joining. Just seeing the sample that you’ve shown us inspires me to attempt a large project! I have a king-sized bed, though, so it would take me forever to finish a spread for it. But your beautiful creations do have me thinking about it, though! I hope that your day is filled with sunshine, smiles, and laughter 🙂

The turquoise is fantastic. The blue is nice too. In my opinion the blue doesnt show up much. I like it though. The question is, do you like it? Whatever you choose, it will be gorgeous.

Hello! And congratulations on your blogger award!!

The turquoise is a beautiful choice for your joining color. Cannot wait to see the completed blanket.
I have a question for you: on your bulletin board is a motif at the top, right-hand side; white/red/white/green. Is this a pattern of yours, or one that you know where I might find the instructions???

Would appreciate it if you could share this with me. Do you know how it is when you see something and are struck with that feeling “aaah, this could be my next project,” I have been struck!

    Have a wonderful day!

  31. Daine M

Good Morning, Angie! Just wanted to “chime in” on my approval of the turquoise blue you selected to join your granny squares. I imagine it will look very cheerful in your bedroom with the blue walls 🙂 Enjoy it as I enjoy reading your blog. BTW — I absolutely love your little “niche” where your computer lives — very cozy. Have a wonderful day!

  32. Nancy

Again, I just have to say how wonderful and amazing and inspirational your color choices are!! Thanks so much for always sharing!
I love your sc join. That is what I have always used, but I seldom see it done by others. It is comforting to know someone else does it too!

  33. Debi Y.

Wonderful. You are inspiration to me. Our 20th anniversary is this fall and I think I’ll have to make a bed spread for our bed. I love how you are using all these different colors. I am having such a hard time to decide what color I will use. I know that you will inspire me to a great combination. Thanks for sharing : )

  39. René

    Angie,
I love how you joined your love bird squares. I think there is just enough difference in the turquoise and the teal. I think it will look lovely in your room since it is in a blue color. I also agree with someone who said if you love it, go with it, but it does look great!!!
    Hugs,
    René

The squares look wonderful! I can’t wait for the finished blanket! I wasn’t able to post this earlier but I just dropped in to tell you that I’ve got an award for you over at my blog! 🙂

  42. Laura

Hello Angie!!! I’m so pleased you liked your award. They’re such fun aren’t they?? I think you must DEFINITELY go with the blue on your blanket. Never mind that your walls are blue so it will go perfectly with them, more importantly it’s the colour that you first chose and obviously adore so it MUST be that one!!! Classic white is fine but I love joining in a different colour. Can’t wait to see it finished….lol xxx

  43. Rima

Bonjour ,ce turquoise va très bien pour faire la finition de tous ces petits carrés..bon dimanche.

    Angie,
I have to share a little funny note with you. My hubby just bought me a new laptop, it’s white just like I wanted but the funny thing is that you and I have the same screensaver on our laptops. I just thought that was too cute. I do love your pink laptop I must say. I have been tryng to finish up alot of UFO’s I had lying around before I move onto anything new. I am slowly getting there along with all my spring cleaning and we are remodeling our apartment. This week I go pick out the paint. I can’t wait. I want light and bright to help with the dreary weather we have here. Hope your having a great weekend and an even better week.
    Blessings,
    Misty and Pets.
