Hello hello hello 🙂

I was so happy reading every single word you left on my last post ! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

It really gives me a lot of pleasure reading all your comments! I wish I could thank you in each and every one’s blog 🙂

Until now we have participating in the Giant granny challenge:

Jacquie (maybe), Pauline (maybe), Jane (maybe), Rene, Lizzie, Ohangelina, and Sonieta.

Jacquie, Pauline and Jane you have to make your best to be with us:) We are counting on you!

Rene, Lizzie, Ohangelina and Sonieta: Welcome welcome welcome to the GIANT granny challenge! Waiting for your pics 😉

To all the others who did not join yet I tell them: we are waiting for youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!! 😀

To Ohangelina: I did not think about any link, I thought about sharing our progress in each one’s blog:( but it will be great to have a place a link or address where we can all put our pics and progress…do you have something in mind?

To Sonieta: I think 100 rounds will be too much! hehe:) If I can make something between 50 and 100 rounds it will be perfect 🙂

To Rakkie: Sorry but I don’t think that Nako yarn have an online shop:( Their website is: www.nako.com.tr and I did not find there any online shop…It is in Turkish and maybe I did not understand where to search…

To Esther: Thank you soo much for giving me the address of the Nako shop in Istanbul 🙂 It is PARADISE 🙂

To Pati from London: I wish you a very smooth delivery 🙂 Good luck and don’t stress 🙂

To Lizzie: I made for you a graphic pattern for the classic granny square…Here it is:

Sorry but graphic patterns is all I can make 🙁

You have always to add in every new round: “3treble,1chain, 3treble” in each of the 4 corners of every round…

Here is, before I go, a pic of what I did so far (16rounds)

Hope you can join us too in this GIANT challenge 😉 All you have to do is crochet and crochet and crochet a very big colorful granny square…as big as you can 🙂 Very simple and very addictive too 🙂 It will be fun!!

Have a great evening!

Sounds fun–if I didn’t have a few too many WIPs, then I probably would have jumped in too. I think it’s best if I am a spectator for now! Victoria

I am a beginner “hooker” and I don’t know how to do a granny square but it looks like a fun thing to try. I love the idea of one big one and not a lot of little ones to join together. I think I will utube and see if I can find a tutorial to help me get started. I love looking at your site. It is so inspiring and sooooo colorful.

  8. Claire

Lol… I’m tempted to join in. I’m trying sunbursts for the first time. I was delighted I learned a puff stitch and a cluster stitch this evening!

I just dug out some yarn I’m not fond of, but my sister would love. I’m going to practice on her and make the final version in gorgeous colors for my sister in law, who is about to have our first girl!!!!!!!! We have 5 kids in our families and no girls. We are ready to spoil!! Well, they’re all spoiled. I can’t wait to start. Right…..NOW!

    it looks nice

  19. ohangelina

hey ang i do have a question…the pattern i am following says 3treb 2chain 3 treb. and then all others is just 1chain in between. does this just make a wider edge than yours? spacier edge square? and do you ever increase any of these 1 or 2 chains in between as your granny grows and grows, or just keep it the same?
this is fun, i love it , !
    ang

Yeah for giant granny squares. I’ve been crocheting for 21 years now (makes me sound old when I’m only 35), and I still love crocheting them just as much now as I did back then!
