Olé Olé blanket: The border

By
February 8, 2011

Good evening ladies,
Hope everything is fine !

Let me begin this post by thanking each and every one of you… one by one… every single one… for every sweet comment you left on my Olé Olé blanket post…Your words filled my heart with a big joy and I felt sooo happy reading them 🙂

A BIIIIIIIIIG THANK YOU!

This is, as promised, the graphic pattern of the border of Olé Olé blanket:

You have to make two rows of dc first and for the third row (in red) all you have to do is to crochet by following the steps 1, 2, 3 and 4 (in light blue)

It is very easy, you’ll see as soon as you’ll try 😉

And for you who asked for the pattern of the blanket, I am so sorry…I took it from this french book , but you can find something quite similar in the blog of the wonderful Lucy here. 😉

That’s all my friend!

Hope I made it clear…

Do not hesitate to ask any question, I’ll be more than happy to answer 🙂

Have a great and warm evening!

Angie

Hi Angie! That is such a lovely border…I definitely want to try it. It looks complicated and I can’t quite work it out but I haven’t got a hook and yarn in my hands! I find that once I try to do it (rather than just reading it and imagining it) then it makes sense! I will let you know how I get on xx

  2. Andrea

Got it! As you said, once I started to do it it was easy!! Thanks! xx

    Hello!

I love your work. I am a beginner in crochet and I was wondering where you buy your yarn from?
    Thanks,

    best regards,

      Hello Zeina,
I buy my Vizon yarn (this is a 100% acrylic yarn with wonderful colors) from a local store in Lenanon in Jounieh called Torikian,
and I buy online the Stylecraft special DK (this is also a 100% acrylic yarn) from this store here:

      Have a great day!

    Hi Sucrette

I am making a ripple afghan for my brother’s baby girl and when it is finished I want to put a border on it. Yours looks lovely and your instructions are easy to follow. My question is how do you make a straight edge on the ripple part? I’ve only been crocheting a few months so I’m not confident enough to work it out myself yet!

oh so stupid me, I did not see that right to my right…please forget I asked for a definition of the symbols, I did not look around enough! I think we all suffer from not enough hands, hours etc…and for me too much stuff…I have accumulated enough for my own shop. I’ve busied myself this morning organizing it a bit. Enjoy all those wonderful stitchy hours!

I have just finished crocheting a baby blanket and I am looking now at which edging to crochet. I have a question about the nice edging: what do you do in the corners?

Coucou Angie !

I love this pattern and I love the colors you use. I have made the Ripples of Happiness afghan, but would love to make the Ole’Ole’ Blanket. I have figured out the beautiful border from your pattern, but need help with the edging. Is it the “Ripples” pattern, but with straight edges?

  37. kalberpen

Hey there! I love the edging to this blanket!
I have a blanket ready for an edge.
I saw you posted a diagram of how to crochet your boarder.
But I don’t read diagrams all that well.
Are you able to write it out?
If so that would be a great help!
    Thanks so much.

I love this border! It’s a lot like the C2C style which I do a lot for baby blankets. I’m just curious what you do at the corners. Could you show an example and/or a graphic pattern? Thanks! – Betsy
