Hello,

This week I’ve been doing this for a special order:

We call them “sous plats” in french but I can not find the right word in English…It is something you put under a hot dish (please tell me what it is in English I am very curious to learn :))

I love them 🙂 Do you?

The back side is made with wicker (is it a right word?, I took it from the translator:S:S)

And, and, and…I bought some new yarn from a local shop….(naughty girl!!)

I just want to show you and you will understand why…

mmmmmmmmmmh, do you see the colors?

I am a crazy yarnoholic (is it a word??) :D:D I can not resist when I see new yarn with such beautiful, wonderful colors…I have sinned again…shame on me:)

It is a 100% acrylic yarn, a little bit thicker than the stylecraft special dk (4.5mm crochet hook) but very soft, machine washable and with such yummy colors I bet no one can resist 🙂

and now the problem is: where will I put all this????? mmmmh, I guess under the bed :):) and from time to time, in the night, I’ll go down and check again and again if they are still there…

Have a beautiful colorful day!

Sucrette

I’m English and I’d call them hotpads or placemats… since they are to go under hot casseroles or pans then hotpads!!

I love them (and most of the stuff you do) as it’s always bright and cheerful!

Happy Hooking! Avec Sentiments, Paula xx

These are also called Mandalas, besides being a hotpad. If you go here http://crochethealingandraymond.wordpress.com/ Alice has alot of her Mandalas and her pattern which is a little different than yours.

Happy crocheting! Your hotpads look great by the way!!!!!

What a great idea and they’re so pretty and colourful and everything you do.

I’m sooo envious of all that lovely yarn you bought it’s so beautiful and bright. Can’t wait to see what you’ll make with it.

Beautiful place mats and a great idea to make the wicker mats look much nicer!

Hello. They are called trivets. Potholders are soft for bending around dishes to grab them out of the oven. These are hard on back with the wicker, so as to place hot dishes on them to not damage table surface. These are just so beautiful, as is everything you do!! 🙂

  16. Angie

I enjoyed seeing these; they are beautifully done and would be a pleasure to use.
I am in the southern US, and we would call this a “hot pad.” A potholder here is the same definition as lacie’s.
Thank you for the inspiration! 😀

    Hi Sucrette ,

I was wondering where you bought such incredible yarns, who many, and for how much? Because here in the Dominican Republic they don´t have yarn stores… I´m trying to see if I can order it online if it´s not to expensive… Please help a fellow Yarnholic from the Dominican Republic!

P.S. I really love your blog and creations!
